But the question, as always, is: who? The Dems are proving to be a paper tiger. People at large are resigned and exhausted. The news media sane-wash everything. It may not be too late to act, but the opposition is running circles around everyone.
My Italian grandmother who emigrated at age 16 said the same thing. She buried her 4-year-old and 18-month-old baby daughters during the same week in the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918. She sent two sons to fight in WW2 and grandsons to the Vietnam War.

Similar with my family. My grandmother lost her 3-year old daughter to a kitchen accident. Uncles went to fight in WWII. I served my country overseas. AND - we enjoy the best cuisine in the world!
My previous job was developing Emergency Response Plans for 45 cruise ships and I was fortunate to spend lots of time at our newbuild shipyards in Venice (Mestre) and Genoa. Have traveled extensively in bella Italia including to my grandmother’s village in Sicily. Also visited Salo on Lago di Garda — once the “citadel” of Mussolini. Even the invincible strongman Il Duce was hunted down & toppled by his own people. The Italians have another saying: “Non puoi nasconderti dalla verità.” Which Shakespeare so eloquently told in MacBeth (Out, out damned spot).
