James Bond 007 Author Praises HAVANA QUEEN
Latest review of HAVANA QUEEN, by NY Times bestselling thriller writer, Raymond Benson --
"HAVANA QUEEN is red hot. James Bruno establishes a visceral sense of place, tells an intriguing story, and delivers a Cuban cigar box full of thrills."
Raymond Benson is the fourth official writer of the James Bond 007 novels. He penned six original 007 novels, three film novelizations (TOMORROW NEVER DIES, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, DIE ANOTHER DAY). He is also the author of the acclaimed "Black Stiletto" series and of two NY Times best-selling books in the Tom Clancy series.
The first 007 writer, of course, was the character's creator, Ian Fleming. Fleming wrote twelve novels and two collections of short stories that were published in the 1950s and early 60s. Kingsley Amis was next, writing one book under a pseudonym (Robert Markham). John Gardner took over the mantle and wrote fourteen novels and two film novelizations before Raymond was hired to continue the series. His tenure as Bond author spanned from 1996 to 2003.
His next installments in the "Black Stiletto" series, SECRETS & LIES and ENDINGS & BEGINNINGS, will be released in 2014.
